Analytical Response

Whether your response to stimuli is written or oral, it follows basically the same format: an introduction which hooks the audience or reader and states your thesis, the main part which gives arguments to support your thesis, collaborated by evidence and examples, and a summary or conclusion to your response.

Of course, a speech is a different mode of delivery to an essay, so its format will be tweeked to engage the audience in different ways.

Here are some websites that will help you to understand analytical response and speech formats, particularly responses to literary texts.
